Alfonso Arau
Alfonso Arau Incháustegui (n. Ciudad de México; 11 de enero de 1932) es un director, músico, cantante, actor y guionista de cine mexicano, galardonado con el Premio Ariel.
Ha dirigido películas de éxito como Como agua para chocolate (del libro homónimo de su ex esposa Laura Esquivel) o Un paseo por las nubes con Keanu Reeves, Aitana Sánchez-Gijón y Anthony Quinn. En 2004 dirigió Zapata, el sueño de un héroe, al lado de Alejandro Fernández, que fue muy mal recibida por la crítica y el público.
Inicia su carrera como cómico y bailarín, al lado de Sergio Corona, formando el dueto Corona y Arau. En el año 1965, interviene como actor en la película En este pueblo no hay ladrones, dirigida por Alberto Isaac y donde aparece como actor secundario el director Luis Buñuel, y como extras Gabriel García Márquez, el escritor Carlos Monsiváis y los actores Julián Pastor, Rocío Sagaón entre otros; la historia trata sobre un robo de tres bolas de billar, considerada por los conocedores como una clásica. En el mismo año inició un grupo denominado Los Tepetatles, el cual podría ser el origen del Rock urbano en México.
